English for Health and OET Preparation

 OET is an English test for health professionals who wish to practice in an English speaking environment. 

OET is an accepted English test for registration in  health professions in Australia, the UK, Ireland, New Zealand, Singapore, Dubai and Namibia. 

OET is also recognised by Australian and New Zealand immigration for visa purposes.

There are a number of tests available for registration/immigration; however, OET  has been specifically designed for health professionals.

Preparing for OET also helps students be ready for the work place.  The speaking test involves 2 role plays with patients, and the writing test is a referral letter to a health professional. 

The reading and listening tests are also based on health topics, so the students feel more confident and comfortable with the test material.

Courses currently run from 9am-1pm Monday to Friday.  I have attached a copy of the new timetable for you.  A mock test has recently been added to our preparation course.  It will be offered every second week, and will provide students with practice under test conditions as well as feedback from experienced staff.  The preparation course and mock test will allow students to successfully prepare for the test.

IELI offers full time (20 hours) and part time courses for nurses and other health professions.  We also offer gap fill courses for those health students who may have failed a topic at university and wish to continue studying here in Australia.  The OET preparation course prepares the students for the challenges of the test.  Experienced teachers will guide students through the test, provide them with opportunities to practice and provide extensive feedback.  The feedback enables the students to focus on the areas that need improvement.  IELI offers a 3-10 week OET preparation course, but if you require longer courses, it can be paired  with our Health course to suit the needs of the student. We also offer an online OET course for students off shore as well as those in Australia who may find it difficult to attend classes.
